Artist's statement

I have lived in or near the mountains of British Columbia all my life. The forests, mountain peaks, and winter snows of this majestic land have greatly inspired me throughout my life as an outdoorsman, environmentalist and artist.

I like to paint snow with all its subtle changes in colour, shadows and highlights. I use snow in my work to symbolize the purity of the human spirit and the interplay of the elements of nature: sky, water, ice and snow represent the enduring, eternal cycle of the human soul. I use the famous gold bearing creeks and mountains of the historic Cariboo region, as well as as the Cascade mountain range and Chilliwack River valley, as a vehicle for my watercolour and oil paintings.

And memories
